Lightning
Ridge is located approximately 770 kilometres north west of Sydney
and 50 kilometres due south of the Queensland border. The town
is accessible by a fully sealed road, rail and bus, and air.
There are a number of routes to Lightning Ridge including the
Great Inland Way which takes you exploring for over 3000 kilometres
from Cairns to Melbourne, The Newell Highway and self-drive holiday
makers can enjoy a fascinating journey through the amazing outback
along the 'Fossickers Way', or even the Kamilaroi Highway. The
journey is well worth the effort as the views include spectacular
scenery and native wildlife.

Countrylink provides
a daily train service from Sydney to Dubbo and a coach continues
to Lightning Ridge. For bookings call 132232.
